I am an American mixed media artist and photographer living in Rochester, New York.  I am married to the love of my life and have two amazing teenage boys and two loving cats, Camo and Carlie.  Besides working as an independent artist and photographer, I am employed as a school psychologist.  In my free time, I enjoy reading books, gardening, renovating our commercial and residential rental spaces, traveling, and spending time with my family. 

 

I have had a passion for creativity my entire life, studying art in high school and at University at Buffalo and Monroe Community College. I have continued my art education on my own and am a self-taught photographer.  Over the past year I have been participating in artist workshops and recently completed the intensive Art2Life Creative Visionary Program with Nicholas Wilton. 

 

I have used many mediums in the past, including watercolor and oil, creating primarily still life and representational landscape work.  In the past year, I have shifted my focus to mixed media, intuitive abstract paintings in acrylic, charcoal, graphite, wax crayon and oil pastel.  

 

My work is inspired by the beauty of nature, architecture, industrial and city sites, texture, color, and every day things.  I am fascinated by texture, raw canvas peeking out through layers, line work, visual depth, and pops of unexpected bright color. I am currently working in collections, with plans to release my first series for purchase in late summer 2021.
